Welcome One and All ...
Today I have a long Matchbox gift box for you made from that fabulous Under The Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) (N.B. double sided printed Kraft Cardstock).
It is really simple to make, perfect for goodies like jewellery, truffles, & all manner of trinkets ...
You need your Trimmer and your Simply Scored Tool with the Metric Board, to make this box.
Begin by trimming a piece of the Under The Tree DSP to 13 cms x 10 cms
With the long side at the top of your scoring board, score at 2, 6, 8 & 22 cms
Burnish all score lines using a bone folder.
Place a piece of Sticky Strip along the length of the 1 cm flap and attach to the opposite end of the cardstock to make the sleeve of the box.
Trim some offcuts of contrasting Under The Tree DSP, & Gold and Red Glimmer Paper, and wrap around the middle of the sleeve and attach underneath.
Stamp one of the small tags from the Many Merry Stars Kit using the Many Merry Stars Stamp Set in Silver & Gold Encore Ink. Attach to the box using some of the metallic gold twine from the kit.
Now for the Box
Trim a contrasting piece of Under The Tree DSP to 10 cms x 8 cms
Score the long side at 2 cms x 12 cms
& with the short side at the top, score at 2 & 6 cms
With the short end facing you, snip the 2 vertical score line as far as the first horizontal score line
Rotate by 180 degrees and repeat.
Fold and burnish all score lines Add a little Tombow Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to the 4 small tabs and attach the the adjacent long sides to create the box.
Use the 2/8" handheld punch to make a hole at one short end and insert an Antique Brad so you can easily open the box.
All that is left for you to do, is to insert the box into the sleeve.
