HOLIDAY HOME
DAY TWO
Today is about versatility.
This fab stamp set comes with a variety of accessory stamps that allow you to change the theme and/or sentiment of the card.
So for todays theme, we are going Autumnal and I was thinking especially of our followers over in the USA & Canada as I know giving thanks at this time of year is a much bigger deal over there than here in the UK.
When I was a young girl, we loved walking though the woods, collecting acorns, nests, sycamore leaves etc for the nature table at school.
It was also the time of year when we were we were encouraged to give donations for the hampers that would be made up for the elderly, frail and infirm
Helping to deliver those hampers was a great privilege and reminded us all of being thankful for so many, often simple, things in our lives.
It sometimes saddens me that these thoughtful acts have all but disappeared from the school curiculum
BUT out Grandchildren, love doing these things as part of what we do in our family to try and keep such traditions alive
I also look forward to Stir Up Sunday arriving to get the Christmas Cakes and Puddings started for this Christmas' family celebrations
And so todays card reminds me of my own walks through the woods collecting items for the nature table at school, horse riding in the woods during the autumn, with the sound of the hooves though the leaves, and the smell of the leaf litter, and most of all the falling leaves
This is a really simple and quick card and here is the how to tutorial.
Begin by making your card blank by trimming a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 14.8cms x 21cms.
Score the long side at 10.5cms, fold along the score line, and burnish the fold to create a nice crisp fold, using your Bone Folder.
Trim the following Coloured Cardstock to size:
Mossy Meadow cardstock - 7.5 6cms x 10.5cms
Cajun Craze Cardstock - 7 cms x 10cms
Crushed Curry - Cardstock - 6.5 cms.5cms x 9.5 cms
Whisper White Cardstock - 6cms x 9cms
Layer up the Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze & Crushed Curry cardstock using a little Tombow Multi-Purpose Glue.
On the smallest panel of Whisper White cardstock, you are going to stamp a few of the leafless trees from the stamp set, using Smoky Slate ink.
Add a few pumpins, stamping them in Pumpkin Pie ink.
Lastly, you are going to randomly stamp the leaf stamp in the following colours
Mossy Meadow
Cajun Craze
Crushed Curry
Leave a void (white space) in the middle of the card. This is where you will place your sentiment.
Stamp the 'Grateful for You' stamp in Cajun Craze ink onto a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock/
Punch out the sentiment using the the Word Window Punch
Mount this onto a punched Modern Label in Cajun Craze cardstock.
Apply to the stamped panel using Stampin Dimensionals. Mount the stamped panel onto the layered coloured cardstock and attach to the card blank.
Punch out 3 butterflies using the bitty butterfly punch. Ensure you punch one in each of the three colours used in your card.
Attach the butterflies to the card front using Glue Dots.
Add 3 small pearls to the thorax of the butterflies and you are done!
