Spring & Summer Catalogue 2014

I can hardly believe that the Winter Catalogue is gone and the Spring Summer Catalogue is here.
I have already been playing with my Pre-Order products and I am delighted with the new stamps, punches, die and Designer Series Papers in the Catalogue. There are varius party kits with Banners etc, AND a Burplap Wreath Kit that includes die cuts to make beautiful flowers to go on it.

Here are some of my creations using the new products:

This lovely card is made using papers from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Papers (132996). The Sentiment Stamp is a Sale A Bration freebie (See Ya Later 133533) when you spend £45 on an order During 2014 Sale A Bration promotion period.

This card was made using circle collection Framelits (130911); & the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set & Starburst Framelits die bundle (134817); rgw Summer Starfruit cord is one of the free accessories you can choose when placing an order of £45 during 2024 Sale A Bration.

A card for the men, made using the Starburst Sayings/Starburst Framlits Bundle, as well as the Retro Fresh Designer Series Papers (132993)

This was a quick make and take I did recently at a Team Training Day. The Stamp Set isHappy Watercolour (133188) and includes the sentiment stamp, and the distressed dots stamp seen on the card above.

Another Make and Take project form our recent Training day. This one uses a stamp from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set (133227, the banner punch (One of the Sale A Bration freebies you can choose for every £45 order placed), and crisp cantaloupe ruffle ribbon.
Another masculine card, that could even be used on a card or scrapbook for your other half on Valentines Day. The Stamp Set is called Hello Sailor132992, plus striped Pacific Point grosgrain ribbon (132981) Decorative Dots TIEF, and antique brads (117273)

This was a Fancy Fold card made at our recent training day featuring many of the products in the new seasonal catalogue. The Happy Watercolour (133188) Stampset is my most favourite of all the new sets.

This is another of the stamps in the Happy Watercolour stamp set. And I adore the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Papers. Lots of Pear Pizzaz and  Crisp Cantaloupe colours going on.

And again ... I told you that Happy Watercolour was my favourite Stamp Set ... didn't I?? he he

Lastly, here is the wreath I made from the Burlap and Blooms Kit ( 133333) from the new catalogue. Best results are made with the use of a hot melt glue gun to put the flowers together and sewn onto the wreath, but it is a really pretty piece of home decore. You can add your own embellishments to the kit, but I rather liked it as it is.

I hope you enjoyed viewing my makes and do feel free to leave comments

Happy Stampin Folks ... Till Next Time

Kim xx

Scrapbook Challenge 1

Well Here we are ... Our First Scrapbook Challenge.
Using Templates and Challenges is a way of preventing crafters block, and keeps your creative juices following. It helps build new friendships and a great way of networking with other like minded crafters. Challenges help us develop our own styles too.

I personally am guilty of using the same template (just rotating it around) too frequently, and I always enjoy viewing scrapbooking crafters work, and admire their creativity. So these challenges are as much for myself as much as they are for all of you. So if like me, most of your photos are either in the loft or on a memory stick/sim card, now is the time to get them out and work with them to create some amazing memories.

Those memories can be used during the times when life gets a little tough. We all have them, but reminiscing on events you documented in your scrapbooks will give you a lift so you can pick yourself up, dust yourself off and carry on :) Happy Scrappin!

Valentine in Love

Here at The Warren, we have been busy creating Valentines Cards. If you don't do Valentines Day, then make any day one of Love. After all, those of us that craft, love sharing the love with the creations we make for family and friends. Any day is therefore a love day.

This year my colours for Valentines is Black, Smokey Slate, Real Red and Whisper White.

I have enjoyed using dry embossing with black on black one layer cards (OLC), with a teeny bit of red, or black and heat embossed sentiments in Pewter.

This card is a Black on Black, heat and dry embossed card (Be My Valentine) with a teeny red heart and Real Red 3/8" ribbon

Here is a Bkack, Real Red & Smokey Slate layered Label Card. The top of the label is a sneak peek of a new punch in the Spring/Summer Catalogue coming out this week. Rose red seam binding ribbon, and a new heart stamp, stamped onto vellum.

The background for this card was made using a new flower heart stamp (in the new catalogue) and then over sponged with rose red to give a flock appearance. The FABULOUS sentiment stamp is highlighted using the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF)

The SOMEONE card is made using a new paper stack in the upcoming catalogue, along with some new frameliets for the banners. Perfect for giving to the love of your life whether male or female.

Here is a Black OLC dry embossed with Designer Frames TIEF, and the sentiment is heat embossed using pewter embossing powder. Add some Real Red ribbon and a hear punched from within a heart and bingo.

Lastly, the And Found You card is a black card layered with gold Foil that has been dry embossed with a TIEF from the new catalogue, the card base has also been dry embossed using one of the Adorning Accents TIES (tiny hearts) that have been hghlighted using a silver pen.

And there you have it, my Vanlentines Card makes ... for the moment. I am certain there will be more.

January 2014 Newsletter

Monthly Newsletter

Welcome to our first combined newsletter. Until now we have had different newletters and updates for the different components of Warren Crafts. We then came up with the idea of sharing what’s going on at The Warren since people who love small animals, may also like cardcraft or scrapbooking and vice versa, so here we go!

   Our Animals

January is the beginning of our breeding season, and we have a few rabbits with young litters at the moment, with more due to be mated by the end of the month. We also have our first guinea pig litter due 31 January, and a couple more piggies in the breeding pen. We do have some young adult rabbits and guinea pigs up for adoption. If you are thinking about adding a rabbit or a couple of guinea pigs to your family, then give us a call and pop along for a chat.

All our small animals go with a health check, a supply of feed, and an information sheet. More importantly, we offer Forever Homes, so should your circumstances change, we will always take back the animal you purchased and do our best to find suitable homes for them, or remain with us here at The Warren. We will always provide advice if you have a rabbit or guinea pig, whether or not you adopted the animal from us or not. We must stress this does not replace the advice of a vet, but with 20 plus years of breeding, showing and sharing our lives with these adorable animals, we have a wealth of knowledge that we can share.

Some of you will already know how excited we are about the pending arrival of a couple of Pygmy Goats! They will hopefully arrive in the spring, mother nature permitting. So we are busy making preparations for their arrival. We are having 3 small paddocks built, one of which is for the rabbit and guinea pig runs. We are also having a breeze block stable built, and much of the decking between the chicken coup and the rabbitry is being removed in place of concrete, making it easier to maintain, and safer to walk on.

For more information visit our websites:

Small Animal Boarding

We have always offered a rabbit/guinea pig boarding service for the animals we rehome, but with the closing of the local small animal boarding business, we decided to make the boarding service into a more formal business and open to all. We have very reasonable daily and weekly rates (see the website link below). This has meant investing in new small animal housing blocks. The first of these are in place, and the last few blocks being built as we go to press. All hutches are painted, disinfected between occupants, with regular exercise for all our animal guests. There are requirements that need to be met before your booking can be confirmed (e.g. vaccinations, insurance etc), and details can be found on the booking form available from the website link below.

Handmade Wedding Stationary, Favours, Gift boxes and general Greetings Cards.

We offer two options when it comes to our handmade cardcraft products. You can either let us make up your order after agreeing on the design you want, OR you can make them yourself in a workshop, with family and friends, and us there to guide and assist you along the way. This makes the preparations for your wedding or other special event, even more special. Contact us to arrange an appointment and you can decide which option you want to go for.

Workshops:

Cardcraft & Scrapbooking

This year our workshops are  going to be more structured, in terms of planning – at least that was our intention when we made it our number one item on the New Year’s Resolution list! Each month we will be featuring a technique, plu s2 or 3 stamp sets.

January will begin with Dry Embossing as the technique and the stamp sets will be picked with the theme ‘Love is in the Air’. Even if you do not celebrate Valentine’s Day, love is why we hand craft cards and scrapbook pages, so do not be put off by the theme. The featured colours will be Black, Grey, Red & White.

We Offer workshops for:

  1. Children aged  5 to 12 years
  2. Teenagers, aged 12 to 18 years
  3. Adults
  4. Children and adults with special needs
  5. The Bereaved & those with life limiting conditions
Everyone attending any of our papercraft workshops between January and the end of March 2014, will be entered into a free monthly prize draw to win a bundle of Stampin Up products, and a copy of the new book, Fifty Shades of Rubber Stamping by Amanda Bartlett.

We are also committed to making improvements to our Blog
We will be uploading a monthly card template challenge on the First Monday of each month & a Scrapbook Challenge on the Third Monday of each month. We will be asking you to send us pictures of your creation (by email, post or using a link on blog), within two weeks of the challenges going live, and a winner will be picked for each challenge. If successful, we will also look for sponsors to provide prizes for future challenges, but for now, we just want you to have fun. We are also hoping to keep the blog up to date with news, tips, techniques and projects.
