Serene Silhouettes meets 2013-15 In Colours

By now, you will have guessed that I am rather taken with the current 2013 to 2015 In Colours. In reality, my colour choices change with the seasons, so at the moment, with the better (well slightly better) weather, I enjoy crafting with lighter colours. But there always needs to be a contrast, and Baked Brown Sugar is that contrast, I am tending toward using it where normally I would choose Soft Suede.

This card is another using the Simply Fabulous Simply Sent card kit, and using the card as a layer on a larger card. I like it and this it works really well, Here I have heat embossed the dandelion image in white embossing powder. I then sponged the card using the emboss resist technique, in Coastal Cabana ink. I had some scraps from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Stack, and rounded the corners on a few (I think I get better corners using the Envelope Punch Board (EPB) rather than the corner punch.. I used another 1cm sife strip horizontally across the card. The card was finished with a Baked Brown Sugar Boutique Details embellishment, plus a few basic rhinestones, and the card was complete except for the sentiment.

FINE FEATHERS IN BLUE & GREEN

This is one of those unisex cards. This one is mossing a sentiment, as I leave my cards without sentiments when I am going to sell them, so that the card is suitable for any occassion. I take stamp sets with me so I can add a sentiment easily if the buyer so wishes.

This card uses Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Island Indigo and Pool Party. The bottom panel is a piece of Isand Indigo cardstock that has been dry embossed using the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF). The feathers are cut by hand using my trusty Paper Snips. It has all be finished with a piece of Old Olive 1/8"taffea ribbon.

EMBOSS RESIST SERENE SILHOUETTES
This is the last of my Serene Silhouettes cards. This one featurtes the tree. Scraps from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack, which helps blend the Basked Brown Sugar cardstock with the soft hues of Coastal Cabana.

I love using white Embossing Powder for heat embossed projects. Here the image was stamped onto one of the card in the Simply Fabulous Simply Sent card kit.

I have rounded the opposite corners of theFresh Prints DSP only, with a small strip to go across the middle of the card. When you use Emboss Resist techniques, you need some Stampin Sponges for best effects, and the coloured cardstock. Cut the sponge into 8 wedges. Ink up one of the sponges with Coastal Cabana ink, and starting in the  centre of the card you want to move the sponge in small, but ever increasing curcles to achieve a darker middle area with the colour diluting as it reached s the edges of the cardstock of the cut cardstock. Repeat as many times as needed until you get the colour intensity that works for you, because if you find the card pleasing to look at, others will too.
