Timeless Textures Water Bleach Technique & emboss Resist Birthday Card Stampin Up! UK

Yes, Finally .... My Video has uploaded!!
And today I am showing you how to use a Water Bleach Technique
(as opposed to a Bleach technique)

And put very simply that means that you sponge the card stock, blending two or more colours together, onto a piece of Watercolour Paper
Then you sppritz the watercolour paper with water, allow to sink in a little, and then using either a baby wipe, or a piece of kitchen towel, you randomly press down on the Watercolour paper, allowing some of the ink to be absorbed by the paper or baby wipe, to leave you with a bleached area,
Once dry, I have then used the Timeless Textures Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! and Versamark Ink Pad, and alternate the layers with White or Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.
I used different stamps on each layer too
The card was layered up in an asymetrical way and finished with a simple Embossed Vellum sentiment overlay.

Tutorial

  1. Trim three pieces of Watercolour Paper  - 7.5 x 7.5 cms; 10 x 10 cms & 12.5 x 12.5 cms
  2. CAD BASE - Trim a piece of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock to 14 x 28 cms;Score at 14 cms; Fold & Burnish
  3. Sponge all three pieces of Watercolour Paper with different combinations of Flirty Flamingo & Peekaboo Peach Ink Pads using a wedge of Stampin Sponge; then spritz liberally with water
  4. Before the watercolour paper dries, press either a baby wipe or a piece of kitchen towel firmly in random places on the cardstock. This will leach colour out of these areas. Allow to dry
  5. Using Versamark and the Timeless Textures Stamp Set, stamp different combinations of the stamps between the three layers, sprinkle with clear embossing powder and heat set.
  6. Trim a piece of White Vellum cardstock to 14 x 3 cms; stamp the Birthday Sentiment from Butterfly Basics Stamp Set with Versamark; Dusk with WHITE embossing Powder & Heat Set.
  7. Using Fast Fuse Adhesive, layer up the 3 pieces of sponged & embossed watercolour paper. Use Stampin Dimensionals for the top layer to pop it up; add your Vellum overlay using Mini Glue Dots
  8. Finish with some Basic Rhinestones and a bow made with Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon, and mount onto the card front with a mini Glue Dot.
