Clear-Mount Stamps by Stampin' Up!

Some of you may have been stamping for years, and others may be new to using rubber stamps to create your own images, tags, home decore and more ...

Rubber stamps come in different ways. There are photopolymer stamps that are clear flexible stamps that are unmounted and stick straight onto an acrylic block for inking up the image and stamping it on your cardstock, gift packaging or gift bags. Stampin up occassionally has a few of these types of stampts here in the UK/Europe.

The two most common forms of rubber stamp, both of which are available though Independent Stampin Up Demonstrators, Like me. These are Clear Mounted stamps and Rubber Stamps

CLEAR MOUNTED STAMPS
Clear mounted stamps are the most common type of stamp kept by those of us who love working with paper crafts. They take  up relatively small amounts of space (the stamp set cases are the same size as a DVD case). The stamps come needing a little preparation, as you will need to stick the image onto it's matching stamp. You will also need some acrylic blocks in different sizes (to match the size of the stamp(s), as you will temporarily 'mount' your clear mount stamp onto a similarly sized acrylic block.

WOOD MOUNTED STAMPS
This is by far, my favourite type of stamp! if I had the space, all my rubber stamps would be wood mounted. They are also a little more expensive than the clear mounted stamps. They too need some preparation when you first open the packaging. You will find the wood blocks, the foam mounted stamps, and the adhesive images that match each of the stamps. It is simply a matter of matching each stamp with its corresponding adhesive image, and wooden block..

I tend to keep wood mounted sentiment stamps and  versatile stamps that I feel will be used many times for many events, since they do take up additional space, which is always a premium, even in my spacious workshop.

The video below will probably explain this much better than I have here, so enjoy and share your creations with us please.
