Swirly Scribbles Faux Emboss technique using Die cuts Stampin Up! UK

I hope your morning is as bright and warm as it is here in sunny Essex (UK)?

So what if we do have torrential rain and thunder storms later ... for now, all is well with my world

My first post pre-order delivery arrived yesterday, and there are some amazing products in there. I cannot wait to start playing with them !!!

If you follow my blog, you will have identified that there is always a lag between my videos tutorials and the blog posts. The reason is that it takes 2-3 days to upload one video, but I do my best to keep the images and the video synchronized.

Today we are talking Swirly Birds and Swirly Scribbles.

Tutorial

Today's tutorial is for the first card only, but use the same products to create to your hearts content

Trim a piece of Mint Macaron Cardstock to 30 x 10.5 cms (A6 Card Base); Score the long side at 14.9 cms; fold & Burnish
Trim a piece if Whisper White Cardstock to 3 cms x 10.1 cms; using the Dapper Denim Ink Pad, stamp the Thank You sentiment from the One Big Meaning stamp set ; add a few Stampin Dimensionals to the back of the label
On a scrap of of Whisper White Cardstock, stamp two of the sketched flowers and either Die Cut using the Swirly Squigles Thinlits Die OR Fussy Cut by Hand. Mount onto the sentiment lavel using a couple of Stampin Dimensionals and add a Rhinestone to each.
Next, select two different sized squiggles from the stamp set, and randomly stamp the front of the card base using the Mint Macaron Ink Pad.
Next, use the Big Shot to die cut 3 or four of the swirly squigles thinlits dies (best results with the Magnetic platform or the Precidion Plate.
Using the Fine Tip Glue Pen, apply a thinl layer of adhesive to the back of the cie cuts and attach to the card front , press firmly to vond the cardstock
Next select the Thinlits Dies you want to use to create the faux embossed card front. I used 3 different sizes in a mix of Mint Macaron & Dapper Denim cardstock
Mount your Sentiment Label to the top of the card base and you are all done.

Guy Greetings Masculine Vintage Car& Brogues Birthday Card Stampin Up! UK

Today I have a super quick Masculine Birthday Card using the

GUY GREETINGS

Stamp Set

Just one stamp set, one ink pad, 2 pieces of cardstock and some Burlap trim with a few Basic Pearls to boot

Change the sentiment, (from the same stamp set) and you have a Fathers Day Card too.

This is my fall back stamp set when I need to make a masculine card at short notice. 10 minutes and you are done

The other art images in the stamp set are great too ... a boxer, an anchor, hats plus, Spanners & the ones I have used here.

Tutorial

Trim a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock to 30 x 10.5 cms; score at 14.9 cms; fold & Burnish
Using the shoe stamp with Early espresso Ink Pad, Stamp the card front (all over)
Into a scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock, stamp the Birthday Greeting using the same ink pad and Die Cut (best results with the Big Shot & Magnetic Platform)
Trim a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock to 10.1 x 6 cms, stamp the car image using the Early Espresso Ink Pad again, and mat onto the lower section of the card front (I used Fast Fuse Adhesive)
Overlap the panel with a strip of Burlap Ribbon
Add 3 large Basic Pearls

Fussy Cut Pop of Paradise Tropical Card with added Glimmer Stampin Up! UK

Today I have a fun Tropical themed Card for you, and I have included a video tutorial for you below.

And if you don't already feel confident Fussy Cutting cutting out elements by hand). you will be by the end of this project.

The key with fussy cutting is rotating the cardstock/paper and keeping the scissors still. In the video it can appear that I am not following my own advice, but if you watch closely, I am rotating my wrist whilst keeping the scissors stationary.

The best way too practice is to stamp a mixture of simple and complex images onto some scrap cardstock and practice, practice, practice, and all of a sudden you will have it.

I did try stamping most of the elements straight onto the cardstock, but it just wasn't doing it for me, as I wanted that lush sense of the rain forest. I have used 3 different shades of green to create the background .

The Pineapple Layer was created using a Marker to Stamp Technique using a combination of Delightful Dijon & Mint Macaron Stampin Write Markers to keep the project co-ordinated. And the stamped border panel was then mat onto Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper to add that sparkle I associate with the Carnival Feel of this card.

Tutorial

Trim a piece of Emerald Envy Cardstock to 30 x 10.5; score at 14.8 cms; fold & Burnish (Card Base)
Trim a piece of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock to 14.4 x 10.1 cms & mat onto the card base
Trim a piece of Peekaboo Peach Cardstock to 14 x 9.7 cms & mat onto the card base
Trim a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 13.6 x 9.3 cms
Stamp the background creating an ambre Effect with the Lilly Pad stamp & starting at the bottom of the card with 4th generation stamping (the amount of times you stamp the image before re-inking your stamp) Start with 2 rows of Emerald Envy, above that is 2 rows of Cucumber Crush, and finally, at the top of the panel is 2 rows of Mint Macaron.
Onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, stamp the following artwork: Flamingo (using Flirty Flamingo Ink) two leaves (one in Cucumber Crush ink & the other in Emerald Envy); Thank You Banner (using Archival black ink pad); & a Pineapple (Mint Macaron for the leaves & Delightful Dijon for the fruit). Fussy Cut all of these elements using Paper Snips
Trim a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 2 x 14 cms & stamp with w pineapple using the Marker to Stamp technique as before; & mat onto a piece of Bushing Bride Glimmer Paper measuring 13.3 x 2.5 cms Adhere to the card front using Fast Fuse Adhesive
Add Stampin Dimensionals to the back of each element. You may need to cut down some of the Dimensionals so they cannot be seen from the front; decide on the arrangement of your art pieces and adhere to the card front; add a few Basic Rhinestones and you are all done.
