In Colours, Perfect Pennants & Banners Framelits

Oh Boy ... what a day it has been today.
It began by realisation dawning as I became concious this-morning that I was waking with a blinding migraine ... so I took my magic wafer (not the same as a magic mushroom!) and hoped I hadn't left it too late before taking it, and thankfully, it did work, but took longer than normal. But almost certainly the cause of the migraine was my lack of sleep and anxiety about one of out geriatric West Highland White Terriers, Megan, going in for pre-operative tests prior to major surgery tomorrow. If you have a Westie in your life, you will know that they are very prone to skin complaints. Although both Megan, and her son Hamish are kept on a strict hypo-allergenic diet, as they have gotten older, the problems with their skin and ear canals has significantly worsened.
We thought we were going to lose Megan over the Christmas season when she became acutely unwell, but with excellent veterinary care, she pulled through. 2 years ago she underwent surgery for mammary cancer and had full lymph node clearance on one side of her torso.
Tomorrow, she undergoes a procedure to remove and solay open tissue in her ear canal to give a route for administering medication, but depending on what they find, she may have to undergo a much larger procedure to remove a section of bone from the skull. Todays tests have shown that at 12 years old, her liver is not functioning as well as it could be, and so rather than coming home today for admission tomorrow, she has had to be sedated, and for fluid resuscitation prior to tomorrow surgery.
And although the Vet assures us that this procedure is in her best interest, but the potential complications are huge and I am worries about her. Despite having been a surgical nurse for 20 years, I am still concerned that we are doing the right thing.

So what have I done? ... I went and immersed myself in crafting, hiding away in my workshop. I have finished off the journal I was working  on the other day, made 40 gift bags ready for my Swaps for Telford Regional Stampin Up! Demonstrator Event ... but I will tell you more about that later this week when I share the completed bags with tags .

And of course, I made todays project for you using the PERFECT PENNANTS Stamp Set

And this is my take on CASIng another project in the Impressions Magazine I mentioned the other day. I look forward to the magazine popping through my door as it is packed full of ideas to help with the business side of being a Stampin up Demonstrator, as we all need a little inspiration from time to time.

I used the 2014-2016 In Colour Classic Ink Pads, Cardstock and Stampin Write Pens, plus a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I embellished the card using the SAB In Colour accessory pack that came with small buttons and co-ordinating thick bakers twine.
I also did a little paper Piercing using the Essentials Paper Piercing Template. Piercing tool and Piercing Mat.
The buttons were adhered tot he cardstock using Crystal Effects which is a fab glue and also a glaze

The card is super fast to make.
Trim a piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock to fit the size of your card blank
Trim a piece of Hello Honey cardstock to 2cm wide by the length of the card front.Stamp this with the star stamp from Perfect Pennants using Hello Honey ink for a tone on tone effect. Create banner ends using your paper snips
Trim a piece of Lost Lagoon Cardstock to 1.5 cm wide and the length of the card front and stamp this using the dots stamp from the same stamp set using Lost Lagoon ink. Create banner ends using the banner punch by feeding the cardstock through the top (not the front) of the Banner Punch.
Adhere the strips of cardstock to your card front on the diagonal using a little Tombow Glue (it doesn't warp the cardstock).

Next ink up the sentiment stamp using a combination of Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss Stampin Write Marker Pens. Remember to give a nice long huff onto the stamp one you have inked it up to re-hydrate the ink, before stamping. Stamp into Whisper White Cardstock and die cut out using the best fitting Banner Framelit.
Pierce thos holes, and attach Stampin Dimensionals to the reverse and adhere to your card front.

Stick down your buttons using Crystal Effects, and finish with a bow of Blackberry Bliss Thick Bakers Twine (use a glue dot to fix to the card front.)
Job Done
Now it is over to you ... go have some fun!
