Stamp Set Showcase Week 11 (5)

WALK IN THE WILD STAMP SET

Do I have a lovely card for you today ... well I like it, and hope you do too
This is the stamp that made me buy the stamp set.
We live in a little pocket of total ruralness, much like living on a farm as a teenager.

Pheasants and Partidges were and still are very much a part of that life. Every evening we hear the Pheasants, and they have such an elitest attitude to roads too ... they just walk out into the road, as slowly as you like and saunter across the road. Cars always stop here when a pheasant is crossing/
We even get them landing in our garden quite often ... until the dogs see them :)

So this card gave me the idea of using Blendabilities Pens to create the grass and to paint the pheasant.

I have also fallen in love with this new Designer Series Paper, double sided of course, and I love the earthiness of Under The Tree specialty papers ,,, so this cards shows both sides of one of the 12" x 12" thick papers with a feeling of Kraft card.

Begin by making your card blank by trimming a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 15cms x 30cms.
Score the long side at 15cms, fold along the score line and burnish with your bone folder.
Stamp the 'Thinking of you' stamp to the bottom right of the card blank using Chocolate Chip ink.
put the card blank to one side.

Trim a piece of the Under The Tree Designer Specialty Paper to 10cms x 10 cms
Trim the opposite side of the Designer paper to 7cms x 7cms.
Put to one side.

Next, trim a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 6cms x 6cms

Stamp the image of your Pheasant in Cajun Craze ink & give it a few moments to dry
No you can use the Blush Blendabilities Pen (from the Skin Tone Assortment) to colour in the pheasant.
Paint in the grass by blending the different shades of Old Olive Blendabilities assortment.
Sponge some subtle sky using the Soft Sky ink and a Stampin Sponge, ink the edges of the cardstock in the same ink.
Mount the stamped layer onto the smallest piece of Designer Specialty Paper.
Tie around a piece of venetian Crochet Trim & die a bow,
Pierce a hole by the bow, and add an Antique Brad,
Mount this layer onto the largest piece of Designer Specialty Paper
To finish, colour 3 large pearls with the Bronze Blendability Pen (also from the Skin tone assortment)

This card would look fab on my brick fireplace once it has been dressed for Christmas!

It takes my hubby 3 weeks to dress out house for the festive season and it always looks so fab, so once we are nearer the time, I promise to share a few photo's
