Stamp Set Showcase Week 9 (3)

I don't know about you, but inspiration for my cards and other paper craft comes from many sources. Todays card came from just such an inspiration. I wanted a unisex card using Tea For Two Designer Series Papers (DSP) which is currently in the Clearance Rack on my website ... if you click here you can go straight to it
But any of you that have used this DSP before, you will know that whilst very vintage, it is vintage in a very feminine way which is generally in contrast to making a unisex card. So I got out the decorative banner stamps in the Perfect Penants stamp set. I then picked a pale blue grid patterned paper from the Tea For Two DSP.
I settled n the dotty stamp with Night of Navy ink and randomly stamped the pennant over the DSP using First, Second, Third & Fourth Generation stamping technique.

I decided I liked it, but it still wasn't unisex enough, nor was it vintage enough for what I was looking for, so next I decided to use Soft Suede with my Stampin Sponges to distress the DSP around the edges, corners and a few places in the middle.

I then turned my attention to the topper
Now I know I used this stamp just the other day, but not all stamp sets have 7 stamps in them (or as in this case, Perfect Penants doesn't have 7 Sentiment stamps in the set) so I have used the same stamp in different creations.
And in todays card, I have stamped the DSP with Soft Suede ink and then die cut the sentiment using the Banners Framelits Die Collection. Next, I die cut the next size up banner from Kraft Card and on the left hand edge, before mounting the sentiment, I used the Spiral Border Punch. I then wound Linen Thread through and around the punched edge. I would some more Linen Threat around 3 fingers 7 times, twisted it in the middle and tied it off. I mounted this on the lower edge of the Banner (which now has the sentiment mounted in it using Stampin Dimensionals).
Use your piercing Tool to make a hole in the topper and push through an Antique Brad.
Colour a couple of large Basic Pearls using the Dark Night of Navy Assortment Blendabilites pen and place around the twine/brad.

Mount your 14cms x 14cms DSP & Topper onto a piece of 14.5cms x 14.5cms Kraft cardstock and mount onto your 15cms x 15cms Whisper White card blank.

I hope you like my creations, and would love you to follow my posts.
