Stamp Set Showcase Week 7 (2)

I am writing this from my sick bed ... I am poorly with a viral infection, but it doesn't slow me down .... much he he

I still have to have my fix of crafting!

So here is todays CHALK TALK make
Partnered with Gorgeous Grunge stamp set
With a little Papillon Potpouri
What do you think?

So you need to begin with a Whisper White card blank

A card blank put as simply as I can, is a piece of cardstock that has been trimmed to size and scored so it can easily be folded. You can either make your own (easy to do) or purchase them. The purpose of a card blank is to act as the framework on which you will mount your card topper (e.g. layers of card, stamped or printed card, decorative papers & card candy etc)
The benefit of this is that you can hide the unsightly parts of cardmaking (the back of brads, recycled card etc) - and if you make mistakes, you generally only effect one piece of card and not a whole card blank.
We card makers are nothing if not thrifty!!

Anyway ... enough babbling and more crafting ... to 12.5cms x 12.5cms
Trim a piece of Island Indigo cardstock
Trim a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 12cms x 12cms
You are also going to need some extra Whisper White cardstock for stamping on.

You are going to start with the 12x12cms Whisper White Cardstock and the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set
Using the small splodge stamp and Crumb Cake ink, randomly stamp the cardstock
Then use the larger splodge stamp with Coastal Cabana ink - again randomly stamp the cardstock. Over stamp this with the grunge lines using Island Indigo ink
Lastly stamp a few of the diagonal lines stamp using Melon Mambo ink - just do a couple of these.
Tie around some 3/8" Melon Mambo ribbon
Get that extra piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamp a couple of butterflies from the Papillon Potpuri stamp set - one in Melon Mambo and one in Island Indigo
Punch these out using the Elegant Butterfly punch.

Next for the tag topper

Get out your Melon Mambo & Coastal Cabana Blendabilities Alcohol pens
You are going to make random stripes in both colours, mixing the two colours a little too
This is what will create the background for the 'Something for a Special Someone' stamp
Overstamp the background you have just made, with the 'Someone Special' stamp using Island Indigo ink.
Die cut this with the Chalk Talk Framelits but DO NOT dispose of the little insert at the top of the tag  as you are going to use this.

Get a little masking tape of Magic Tape and stick that little insert from the tag, back in place.
Apply Stampin Dimensionals to the reverse side of the tag, making sure you place one over the insert you just taped on.
Mount this on your card, add the butterflies using a little Tombow MP Glue or some mini Glue Dots.
Use your Melon Mambo blendabilities Pens to colour some Basic Rhinestones
You will need 3 for each butterfly and another 3 to add to the bottom right of the card.

Pretty cool huh?

I especially loved using the blendabilities pens to create such a lovely background

Have a go yourselves and let me know how you get on???

Happy Stamping
